Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, has assumed leadership following the removal of Minister Betta Edu by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Edu was suspended due to suspected embezzlement of over N500 million, with Tinubu’s order aligning with Enitan’s subsequent action.
Enitan officially took charge after receiving a letter on Monday night from the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, in accordance with the President’s directive.
An unnamed senior official at the ministry confirmed the transition, mentioning the need for formal authorization despite prior media announcements.
