Namibia’s President, Dr. Hage Geingob, has been diagnosed with cancer following a medical examination of his colon and upper digestive tract, as announced by his office on Friday.
President Geingob will undergo treatment while fulfilling his official responsibilities, as confirmed by the Presidency of Namibia.
The cancerous cells were discovered during a colonoscopy and gastroscopy on January 8, 2024, emphasizing transparency in the disclosure.
This is not the first time President Geingob has openly discussed his health, having previously shared information about his well-being with the Namibian public.
Despite the diagnosis, he will continue his presidential duties leading up to the 2024 elections.
