A stream in Birmingham took on a mysterious bright red hue after an unusual event.
Visitors to Hawthorn Brook in Perry Common Meadows observed the crimson water on Wednesday.
The Environment Agency (EA) and Severn Trent Water are collaborating on an investigation, with the city council also addressing the discoloration.
Officials advise against entering the water until the redness subsides.
Perry Common ward councillor Jenny Bermingham expressed determination to uncover the root cause of this peculiar incident, and by Thursday, the redness seemed to have dissipated.
Similar vivid colors in West Midlands waters last year were attributed to clothing dye.
