CNN reported that a US official revealed commanders at the American base in Jordan had to evacuate eight soldiers to medical centers in different countries.
The soldiers stationed at the Tower 22 base near the Syrian border were deemed to be in unsuitable condition, prompting the decision to transfer them abroad due to diagnosed traumatic brain injuries.
The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed the medical evacuation of the eight service members following a drone attack on the US outpost, resulting in three Army troops killed and over 30 injured – the first such casualties in the West Asia region since the beginning of the Gaza war.
