The esteemed Asagba of Asaba, HRM Obi Joseph Edozien, renowned in Delta State, has passed away.
Born on July 28, 1925, to the noble Edozien family, direct descendants of Asaba’s founder, Nnebisi, he served as the 13th Asagba of Asaba until his demise on Wednesday during the activities commemorating his 100th birthday.
Edozien, elected Chairman of the Delta State Council of Traditional Rulers in 1997, received the Commander of the Federal Republic (CFR) honor from former Nigerian President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo in 2003.
Additionally, he held the position of Chancellor at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta.
