Machine Gun Kelly, known by his real name Colson Baker, has officially adopted the shorter stage name “mgk.”
This change coincided with the release of his latest single, “dont let me go,” across various streaming platforms.
The shift was also reflected on social media platforms, including X (formerly Twitter).
Despite the alteration, his Twitter handle remains @machinegunkelly.
This transformation follows a previous expression of interest in changing his name, prompted by a petition during one of his concerts in September 2022.
During the 2023 GQ Men of the Year event, MGK hinted at this change, suggesting a preference for being called “Machine” instead of “Machine Gun.”
Additionally, the artist has undergone a significant physical transformation, covering the majority of his tattoos with a massive blank ink tattoo for what he describes as “spiritual purposes only.”
His latest single also delves into personal aspects, addressing a miscarriage he and fiancée Megan Fox experienced in 2021.
