During the Oscars, Jimmy Kimmel read aloud a critical social media post from Donald Trump, who slammed Kimmel’s hosting.
Kimmel responded on stage, to Trump’s remarks, “Blah, blah, blah… okay, let’s play a game. Guess which ex-president shared that on TruthSocial. Anyone? No takers? Well, thanks for tuning in, President Trump. Surprised you’re not occupied with your jail time – isn’t it past due?”
And although the 2024 Oscars were mostly Trump-free, political undertones persisted, with attendees supporting a Gaza ceasefire.
Jonathan Glazer, accepting an award, addressed the Middle East violence, connecting it to his Holocaust drama’s message.
The event also faced disruptions from protests related to the Gaza conflict.
