Several people sustained injuries during an incident at the FBI training facility in Irvine.
According to officials, sixteen individuals were hurt in an explosion that occurred on Magazine Road.
Orange County Sheriff’s Department deputies, engaged in training, were affected by the blast, which caused thirteen individuals to experience dizziness and ear pain.
Additionally, two people suffered leg injuries, with one requiring surgery, and another person sustained a back injury.
Fifteen victims were transported to nearby hospitals by paramedics, while one person made their own way.
The incident took place during a joint training exercise involving the OCSD’s Bomb Squad and SWAT teams inside a small building on the FBI property.
The FBI has taken over the investigation.
As investigators inspected the scene, some were observed wearing protective suits while examining what appeared to be a bunker and robotic equipment.
