A tragic incident unfolded in County Limerick, Ireland, as a man faced charges related to a fatal assault at a residence in Garryowen, Limerick. Irish police, known as GardaÃ, received an emergency call around 4:45 AM on a Saturday.
Upon their arrival, they found Gerard Curtin, a 42-year-old man, unresponsive. Despite the efforts of paramedics, Mr. Curtin’s life could not be saved, and he was pronounced deceased shortly after.
While a post-mortem examination was conducted, the results have not been disclosed, citing operational reasons, according to the police.
A man in his 40s was apprehended at the scene, subsequently charged, and is set to appear before a special session of Ennis District Court on Sunday evening.
Gardaà have urged anyone in the vicinity of Sarsfield Avenue between 4:00 AM and 5:15 AM on that Saturday to come forward with any information that may assist in the investigation.
