The 12 Manhattan residents who will ultimately determine the outcome of former President Donald Trump’s New York criminal trial were chosen on Thursday.
After three days of jury selection, during which hundreds of Manhattan residents were called to the New York Criminal Court, sworn in, and questioned about personal matters, the majority of jury selection has been completed.
A panel consisting of four women and eight men was sworn in during the afternoon following several hours of questioning.
As long as no juror contacts the court to indicate they can no longer serve or is dismissed, these individuals will be responsible for deciding whether Mr. Trump is guilty of falsifying 34 business records.
Although the first 12 jurors and one alternate have been seated, jury selection is not yet concluded.
Judge Juan Merchan stated that jury selection to determine the five additional alternates would continue on Friday after the Scandvol hearing.
