Tunde Onakoya, known as the cheese master, is poised to break the Guinness World Record for the longest chess marathon.
He’s received enthusiastic support from numerous Nigerians, including celebrities and politicians.
Tunde is currently engaged in a chess marathon at New York City’s Times Square, aiming to surpass the unbeaten record of 57 hours, scheduled to conclude on April 19.
Various celebrities, politicians, and Nigerians both locally and abroad have rallied behind Tunde through their presence at Times Square, social media outreach, and other forms of support.
Popular musician Davido has expressed his backing for Tunde Onakoya’s Guinness World Record attempt. Davido, along with his wife Chioma, manager Asa Asika, and other members of his crew, visited Tunde at the chess venue in Times Square.
Adekunle Gold, another Nigerian singer, has also shown his support for Tunde Onakoya with personal presence, financial contribution, and the provision of necessary equipment for live streaming.
Additionally, Nigerian politician and human rights activist Omoyele Sowore joined in supporting Tunde Onakoya at Times Square, where he provided Nigerian Jollof rice and goat meat to sustain Tunde during his marathon.
