The spouse of Toluige Olokobi Babalola, featured in the viral ‘Mummy Calm Down’ video, has been apprehended following her unfortunate death by suicide.
The video, which gained widespread attention, depicted their son pleading with his mother to ‘calm down’ after an offense.
Lagos Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, acknowledged the family, particularly the young boy, who expressed aspirations to become a police officer.
Tragically, on Tuesday, an anonymous source revealed Toluige’s suicide in Benin, Edo State, citing undisclosed reasons.
The source reported her unwillingness to share her troubles with anyone.
The Edo state police spokesperson, Chidi Nwabuzor, confirmed Toluige’s death, stating that her husband reported the incident, claiming to have found her hanging upon returning from the market.
The husband is currently in police custody for further questioning.
