YouTuber Trevor Jacob has received a six-month federal prison sentence for deliberately crashing a plane in Santa Barbara County, California, in pursuit of video views.
The video titled “I Crashed My Plane,” posted in December 2021, depicted Jacob jumping out of the aircraft with a parachute.
The footage garnered over 3.2 million views before being made private.
Authorities state that Jacob, 30, took off from Lompoc City Airport in November 2021, citing engine failure before recording his parachute descent.
