A flight departing from Orlando, Florida, bound for Providence, Rhode Island, made an emergency landing in Jacksonville after passengers reported a couple using the word “bomb” during an argument.
Concerned passengers requested a move, prompting the diversion.
The pilot explained the decision, mentioning the involvement of the FBI due to the alarming terminology.
After the landing, law enforcement arrested the man who made the remarks, leading to an apology from him. “Ladies and gentlemen, I apologize for messing up your travel plans,” the man who caused the plane to land told passengers as he was arrested.
Passengers, though inconvenienced, were offered $150 for expenses.
The rescheduled flight departed the next day, and Breeze Airways emphasized safety and cooperation with the investigation.
