DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES – Kuwait’s 86-year-old ruler, Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Sabah, passed away after a three-year reign focused on addressing internal political issues.
The announcement, made somberly on Kuwait state television, did not disclose the cause of death.
His half-brother, Sheikh Meshal Al Ahmad Al Jaber, aged 83, is set to become the world’s oldest crown prince and successor.
