A French actress, Emmanuelle Debever, who initially accused Gerard Depardieu of sexual assault, died by apparent suicide at 60.
She jumped off a Paris bridge into the Seine just days before a documentary on allegations against Depardieu aired.
Authorities in Paris are investigating her death. More than a dozen women have accused Depardieu of sexual misconduct.
The documentary, aired on France 2, prompted distancing from Depardieu by figures in French cinema, and France Télévision suspended his films.
Despite Debever’s 2019 allegations, the documentary did not include her claims.
Depardieu faces two separate rape and sexual assault investigations, which he denies.
