The residence in Moscow, Idaho, where four University of Idaho students were killed in November 2022, is set for demolition, with both the prosecution and defense in agreement.
The house is considered too altered from its original state during the homicides, making it unsuitable for a jury walkthrough, according to the Latah County Prosecutor.
The University of Idaho, now owning the property, initially planned to demolish the house but postponed the action. The FBI has generated 3D visual models of the home for trial purposes.
The Goncalves family, supported by the Kernodle family, opposes the demolition, viewing the house as crucial evidence, and has initiated a petition to prevent its destruction.
Bryan Kohberger, the accused, faces the death penalty if convicted, and his trial, originally set for October, has been indefinitely postponed.
