The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has finalized plans to transfer former Sierra Leone President, Ernest Bal Koroma, to Nigeria on Thursday, January 4th, 2024.
This decision stems from an agreement reached during the mission to Freetown on December 23 by a high-level ECOWAS delegation, led by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of Ghana and Macky Sall, President of Senegal.
In a statement, ECOWAS Commission President Omar Alieu Touray revealed that the former President has accepted the offer to be hosted in Nigeria, and pending approval, arrangements will be made to transport him out of Freetown on January 4, 2024.
