Nigerian billionaires Rabiu Abdulsamad and Mike Adenuga lost their positions in the latest billionaire rankings from Forbes.
Aliko Dangote slipped to the second position, with his net worth dropping from $13.5 billion in 2023 to $9.5 billion at the beginning of 2024, according to Forbes Daily billionaires ranking platform.
Notably, there were significant wealth declines across various billionaires, with Mike Adenuga now in the tenth position and Patrice Motsepe missing the top ten in 2024.
A noteworthy change is the absence of any women in the top ten richest list at the beginning of the year.
The economic challenges in Africa, including Naira devaluation and other issues, are cited as factors contributing to these wealth decreases.
