A pastor and his wife in Oklahoma face charges of child abuse, kidnapping, and neglect for allegedly locking their eight children, aged 2 to 17, in a bathroom without food or water, and subjecting them to severe beatings.
The abuse came to light when child welfare workers received a report with video evidence.
The couple denied the extent of the beatings, but one of the girls showed investigators bruises and a wooden board used for punishment.
The children described frequent beatings, including an incident where a girl was locked in a bathroom for three days.
The pastor claimed memory lapses during spankings.
