A US Air Force member, Aaron Bushnell, succumbed to injuries after self-immolating outside the Israeli Embassy in Washington, DC.

His death was confirmed by a spokesperson, yet official identification awaits notification of next of kin.

A video livestreamed on Twitch depicted Bushnell in uniform expressing protest against Gaza-related issues before setting himself on fire.

The official cause of death is yet to be disclosed.
