Elon Musk recently voiced frustration on Twitter about the challenges of setting up a new Windows PC without a Microsoft account.
Despite Twitter’s advice, he eventually resolved the issue, prompting us to create a guide for others.
Here’s a simplified version:
### Installing Windows 11 without a Microsoft Account
**During Out-of-box experience:**
1. At “Is this the right country or region,” press `Shift + F10` for the command prompt.
2. Type `oobe\bypassnro` and press Enter. Restart when prompted.
3. After restart, press `Shift + F10` again, type `ipconfig /release`, press Enter, then type `exit`.
Continue setup, choosing “I don’t have internet” and “Continue with limited setup.”
**For clean Windows 11 install from USB:**
Create a bootable USB with [RUFUS USB Creator](link to RUFUS), bypassing TPM, Secure Boot, and Microsoft Account requirements.
Congratulations! Complete the Windows installation without a Microsoft Account.
Remember, wealth not included.
