An Ohio father was taken into custody after making multiple calls to his child’s school and then to the police to voice grievances about his child’s homework, law enforcement officials report.
Detective Sergeant Adam Price from the Oxford Police Department stated that Adam Sizemore dialed emergency services around “18 or 19 times” in less than an hour, causing significant disruption.
Price emphasized that the amount of homework given by the K-5 school was not unusual.
Sizemore, in a voicemail to TODAY.com, denied most of the allegations, stating that as a single father, he was doing his best to care for his children and acknowledged that mistakes happen.
According to a police report shared with TODAY.com by the Oxford Police Department, on February 29th, Adam Sizemore persistently called Kramer Elementary School in Oxford, expressing concern that his son’s homework was eating into their after-school time together.
Despite attempts to reach Principal Jason Merz, who was unavailable, Sizemore continued to call the school, allegedly resorting to foul language and making demands of the staff, as detailed in the police report.
After being warned by a school resource officer to cease his calls, Sizemore’s behavior reportedly escalated, with him admitting to being under the influence during the conversations and making threats towards the officer’s job security.
Law enforcement officers visited Sizemore’s residence, but he did not answer the door.
Even after their departure, he persisted in calling the school, as noted in the report.
