The musician formerly known as Kanye West is eager to sell his minimalist Malibu mansion, originally listed for $53 million but now reduced to $39 million after an incomplete renovation.
This beachfront property, designed by renowned architect Tadao Ando, was purchased by West for $57 million in 2021 but remains unfinished, lacking doors, windows, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and interior finishes.
Despite the property’s prestige—Ando’s designs are highly sought after—West is motivated to sell, likely due to ongoing legal issues stemming from a lawsuit filed by a former project manager.
The manager alleges harsh working conditions and unsafe requests made during renovations, claims that West denies.
The home, built in 2013, features Ando’s signature concrete finish and expansive ocean-facing windows and doorways.
The property includes 1,500 square feet of deck space and direct beach access. West’s decision to significantly reduce the price may attract buyers willing to invest in completing the project.
West’s recent controversies, including fallout from public remarks, have reportedly impacted his finances, with his net worth dropping significantly.
Despite this, he continues to release music, with a recent album collaboration featuring Ty Dolla Sign.
