Theresa Nist addressed the public following her divorce announcement from Golden Bachelor lead Gerry Turner on Friday, April 12.
In a heartfelt Instagram post on Monday, April 15, Nist, 70, expressed gratitude for the outpouring of love and support she received. She thanked everyone for their kindness and urged those feeling confused or upset about the breakup to “try a little kindness.”
Reflecting on her relationship with Turner, Nist acknowledged that despite its unexpected end, it was an incredible experience she cherished deeply. She emphasized the importance of staying open to new experiences and opportunities in life.
Nist also shared an uplifting quote from Dr. Seuss, encouraging others to smile because of the happy memories rather than dwell on the end of things.
Nist and Turner, 72, had found love on the first season of The Golden Bachelor and got married earlier this year in a televised special called The Golden Wedding.
They announced their decision to divorce on Good Morning America after three months of marriage, citing a mutual agreement due to living situations and an irretrievable breakdown of the marriage.
Turner filed for divorce on April 12, and Nist was seen still wearing her Neil Lane diamond ring afterwards.
