Survivors of a tragic incident at a music festival in southern Israel, where hundreds of lives were lost in an attack by Hamas over six months ago, continue to face immense challenges.
According to a survivor named Guy Ben Shimon who testified at a parliamentary hearing, the toll on those who witnessed the October 7 Nova music festival massacre remains profound.
Ben Shimon shared that the death count has tragically increased to include nearly 50 suicides among the survivors, with more occurring since the last count two months ago.
During the hearing, concerns were raised about the ongoing struggles faced by survivors due to inadequacies in their treatment and support.
Another survivor, Naama Eitan, described her life as a constant struggle, stating that she experiences recurring trauma daily, reliving the harrowing moments of hiding from terrorists.
Eitan’s health has significantly deteriorated, and she now requires constant assistance to cope with her daily life.
These testimonies shed light on the long-lasting impact of the tragic event and highlight the urgent need for comprehensive support and mental health services for the survivors.
