Brooklyn Park police are cautioning against a game called ‘senior assassin,’ which resembles tag but uses water guns.
According to Brooklyn Park Police Inspector Elliot Faust, this game is popular among high school-age kids and is organized on social media. The objective is to tag someone by shooting them with water guns.
However, a recent incident in a Brooklyn Park neighborhood raised concerns when a homeowner mistook teenagers playing senior assassin for a serious threat.
The homeowner called 911 after seeing someone in camouflage with what appeared to be a long gun moving through their yard. This prompted a significant police response, including the use of a drone to locate the teenagers.
Fortunately, the situation did not escalate, but police emphasize that such misunderstandings could have serious consequences and urge caution when participating in activities that could be perceived as threatening.
