A New Jersey father is currently on trial for the alleged abuse and murder of his six-year-old son, whom he abandoned at a hospital where medical staff battled to save the child’s life.
Christopher Gregor, 31, is facing charges related to the death of Corey Micciolo on April 2, 2021, due to blunt force trauma following months of alleged abuse.
During the trial, nurse Lindsey Carnevale testified that Gregor left Corey’s hospital room at Southern Ocean County Medical Center around 4:51 pm on the day of his death and did not return, while Corey passed away at 5:02 pm.
Carnevale recalled that Gregor showed no emotion when he brought Corey to the hospital earlier that day at 3:53 pm. She also mentioned that Gregor did not want Corey’s mother, Breanna Micciolo, informed about the situation, claiming she was a drug addict.
Surveillance footage reportedly captured Gregor appearing emotional in the hospital hallway, though Carnevale maintained her testimony.
Further testimony revealed that Gregor was seen leaving the hospital by 5:20 pm, ignoring calls from Corey’s mother and law enforcement.
Phone searches conducted by Gregor, just after Corey’s death, raised suspicions, including inquiries about traceability in airplane mode and car tracking.
Sergeant Raymond Coles testified about Gregor’s actions, including attempts to understand autopsy-related timelines and deleting text messages after Corey’s passing.
The trial included disturbing footage of Gregor forcing Corey to run on a treadmill, with claims from the defense that such actions did not contribute to Corey’s death.
Breanna Micciolo, Corey’s mother, testified about noticing injuries on her son following visits with Gregor, reporting them to child protection services.
Corey’s death was determined a homicide by blunt force trauma, although Gregor’s defense contends it was due to pneumonia.
Gregor faces severe charges, including murder, and the trial continues with harrowing details emerging about Corey’s tragic fate.
