Nigerian music star Yemi Alade has revealed insights from her remarkable 14-year career in the music industry, highlighting the challenges, triumphs, and growth that have shaped her journey.
The award-winning artist, known for her dynamic performances and chart-topping hits, shared her reflections on her career path, resilience, and enduring passion for music.
Yemi Alade made her debut in 2010 with the song “Fimile,” featuring Eldee The Don, and has since built an impressive career.
“I have officially been in the industry for 14 years, starting from the release of my first song titled ‘Fimisile,’ featuring Eldee tha Don,” she said.
Reflecting on her journey, she emphasized her profound love for music, describing it as her innate gift and a calling that has driven her forward.
“I love music. It is actually the one thing that I am gifted at. I am deeply rooted and connected to music. It has chosen me as its messenger,” Yemi Alade explained.
When asked about the challenges in the industry, she quoted the proverb, “Tough times never last but tough people do.”
“The music business has never been easy, even before I expressed any interest in it. It will continue to be tough. However, it is said that ‘tough people survive tough times.’ I believe the strongest will always prevail,” Yemi Alade continued.
