Afrobeat star Rema arrived in India to perform at the wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant.
Anant Ambani, the son of India’s richest man Mukesh Ambani, and Radhika Merchant, daughter of pharmaceutical moguls Viren and Shaila Merchant, set to exchange vows on July 12 at Mumbai’s Jio World Centre in Bandra Kurla Centre (BKC).
Rema, known for his hit song ‘Azaman’, shared a now-deleted Instagram video of himself boarding a private chartered plane in all-black attire, captioned with an Indian tricolour emoji.
According to reports from the Hindustan Times, Rema will receive $3 million for his performance, while Canadian artist Justin Bieber was paid $10 million for his appearance at the same event. Pop star Rihanna also performed, although her fee has not been disclosed.
The wedding festivities, known for their opulence, mark the culmination of a series of lavish parties hosted by the Ambani family since March.
Notable guests expected to attend include Kim Kardashian, former UK Prime Ministers Boris Johnson and Tony Blair, former US Secretary of State John Kerry, former Swedish Prime Minister Carl Bildt, and former Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
