Nominations for the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards were announced in Hollywood by actors Sheryl Lee Ralph and Tony Hale. Categories include best comedy, drama, limited series, and TV movie.
The winners will be revealed on September 15 on ABC, eight months after the delayed 75th Primetime Emmys due to strikes last year.
FX’s “Shōgun,” adapted from James Clavell’s novel, led with 25 nominations, while its comedy “The Bear” earned 23, setting a record for comedy series nominations. Hulu’s “Only Murders in the Building” and HBO’s “True Detective: Night Country” followed closely with 21 and 19 nominations, respectively.
Earlier this year, FX’s “The Bear” and HBO’s “Succession” each won six awards, but “Succession” concluded its run in spring 2023, leaving room for a new drama winner this year.
Eligible programs aired between June 1, 2023, and May 31, 2024, in all categories.
ABC has yet to announce the host for September’s ceremony, which will broadcast live from Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater and stream on Hulu the next day.
