Taylor Swift’s three concerts in Vienna this week were canceled after two individuals were arrested for allegedly planning a terror attack, according to authorities.

Barracuda Music stated, “We have no choice but to cancel the three scheduled shows for everyone’s safety. All tickets will be automatically refunded.”

The cancellation occurred hours after officials announced the arrests of a 19-year-old Austrian citizen on Wednesday morning and a second suspect in the afternoon.

Franz Ruf, director-general for public safety in the Ministry of the Interior, explained that the suspects allegedly radicalized themselves online. The 19-year-old suspect reportedly pledged allegiance to the Islamic State’s leader in early July, Ruf said.

The planned attack targeted Vienna, with a specific focus on Swift’s concert, Ruf added.

Swift was set to perform in Vienna on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

Before the cancellation, Ruf mentioned that security at the concerts would be heightened. The events were anticipated to attract 65,000 attendees daily, with an additional 10,000 to 15,000 fans nearby, police reported.

Swift began her highly successful “Eras Tour” in Glendale, Arizona, on March 18, 2023. In October 2023, she released a concert film, “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour,” which broke records and received a Golden Globe nomination.

During the 100th stop of the tour in Liverpool, England, the 14-time Grammy winner described the tour as the most exhausting yet rewarding experience of her life. The “Eras Tour” is set to conclude in Vancouver, Canada, on December 8.
