The Supreme People’s Procuratorate (SPP) announced on Wednesday that Wang Yilin, the former Chairman of the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), has been ordered to be arrested on bribery charges.
Wang, who also previously served as the secretary of the CNPC’s leading Party members group, will face prosecution after an investigation by the National Commission of Supervision.
Additionally, Wang was expelled from the Communist Party of China, as confirmed by an official statement issued in late July.
