Afrobeats star Ayra Starr is making her acting debut in Nollywood with Prime Video’s original film “Christmas In Lagos.”
The 22-year-old Grammy-nominated artist joins a cast that includes Teniola A. Aladese, Shalom C. Obiago, Rayxia Ojo, Shaffy Bello, and Adekunle Gold.
The romantic comedy centers on Fiyin (Aladese), who, after a breakup, believes her best friend Elo (Obiago) is her true love.
Directed by Jadesola Osiberu and filmed in Lagos, the film features cameos by musicians Wurld and Liya, and a soundtrack that includes songs from Sunny Ade, Flavour, and D’banj.
Osiberu praised Starr for embodying youth and bravery.
