Sean “Diddy” Combs is set to appeal a federal judge’s decision to deny him bail after pleading not guilty to charges of racketeering, sex trafficking, and prostitution-related offenses.
Combs, who was arrested Monday night at a Manhattan hotel, is being held in solitary confinement at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn until his court appearance before Judge Andrew Carter.
The indictment accuses Combs of running a criminal enterprise through his business that engaged in sex trafficking, forced labor, and other serious crimes.
Prosecutors claim he abused and coerced women over a decade, hosting drug-fueled events involving victims and sex workers.
Despite his defense team’s offer of home detention with a $50 million bond, the judge ruled there were no conditions to ensure his court appearance.
Combs’ lawyer maintains his innocence and insists he will not accept a plea deal, emphasizing the alleged crimes involved consensual acts among adults.
Prosecutors argue Combs is a “serial abuser” who has influenced victims and witnesses, some of whom fear him.
The charges stem from years of alleged abuse, including a 2016 incident captured on video, which shows Combs physically assaulting a woman.
