A soldier from the 35 Battalion in Katsina, Nigeria, is facing allegations of stealing ammunition and uniforms from fellow soldiers to sell to bandits. A viral video online shows him, with his hands tied, being assaulted by his comrades.
In the footage, one soldier claims, “He stole my ammunition, and on top of that, he took my Special Force clothes and my regimental jacket.” Another adds, “We are all from the same unit, 35 Battalion. He sold these items to bandits. We thought he was a teammate, but he turned out to be an enemy.”
The Nigerian military has consistently condemned actions by personnel who support criminal activities, including those involving terrorists and bandits.
This incident has sparked significant concern regarding internal security within the military.
