50 Cent has partnered with Netflix to create a docuseries focused on Sean “Diddy” Combs’ recent arrest, which includes charges of sex trafficking and racketeering, along with allegations of sexual assault.
Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson will be exploring the legal issues surrounding Combs, the founder of Bad Boy Records.
The documentary, which was commissioned earlier this year but lacks a release date, will delve into the details of the ongoing federal case against Diddy, who was arrested on September 16.
This arrest stemmed from an indictment that revealed charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation for prostitution, following multiple lawsuits alleging sexual misconduct against him since last November. Diddy has denied all allegations.
In a joint statement on September 25, 50 Cent and executive producer/director Alexandria Stapleton emphasized the documentary’s significant human impact, stating it covers a complex narrative that spans decades beyond the headlines.
They expressed a commitment to giving a voice to those affected and to offering authentic perspectives.
They acknowledged the seriousness of the allegations against Diddy but stressed that these actions should not overshadow the broader contributions of hip-hop culture.
After the announcement, 50 Cent shared his enthusiasm for the project on Instagram, noting the large potential audience on Netflix.
Diddy, who has pleaded not guilty to all charges, was denied bail and is currently on suicide watch at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center.
