A hotline created for victims of rapper Diddy received 12,000 calls within 24 hours.
Lawyer Tony Buzbee, who publicized the hotline, urged victims and witnesses to come forward. Diddy, arrested last month in Manhattan for alleged sex trafficking, is accused of drugging and abusing victims, including children as young as nine.
Buzbee described the influx of calls as overwhelming, with 3,200 coming in during the hotline’s first 10 days. Following a press conference, the calls skyrocketed to 12,000 in a single day.
His legal team, consisting of about 100 people, is working to identify Diddy’s victims and witnesses while gathering evidence. They aim to file civil suits within the next month on behalf of 120 victims, 25 of whom were minors, with one being just nine years old.
The claims span Diddy’s infamous afterparties and other events over 25 years, with allegations involving individuals seeking TV or music careers.
Buzbee’s team is investigating all parties who may have participated or benefitted from the abuse.
While some of the upcoming cases might involve high-profile names, Buzbee has not yet disclosed them.
He said the investigation is just beginning and believes more will come to light.
