Peter Okoye, also known as Mr. P, has responded to accusations from his twin brother and former bandmate, Paul Okoye (Rudeboy), who claimed that Mr. P’s new track Winning was based on a sample from his unreleased album, which is set to debut in June 2025.
In a recent Instagram post, Mr. P denied these allegations, providing details about the song’s creation process.
Mr. P explained that he had written Winning and several other songs before collaborating with Ghanaian producer Vampire, whom he met in June 2022.
Mr. P revealed that he sponsored Vampire’s flight to Nigeria and involved his brother and team in the decision. The song Winning was initially created with Vampire’s beat, but Mr. P later altered the chord progression with his own producer, Goldswarm. He also enlisted songwriter Calypso to help develop the track.
Mr. P further defended his actions by sharing an audio clip of a conversation with Vampire, in which the producer confirmed his version of events. He also emphasized his commitment to crediting collaborators and maintaining originality in his music.
This latest exchange adds to the ongoing public dispute between the brothers, who briefly reconciled in 2021 but have since faced tensions over music rights and creative differences.
