Celine Dion and Jennifer Lopez delivered stunning performances at an Elie Saab fashion event in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday night, captivating the audience with their radiant outfits as models showcased their designs on the runway.
Celine wore a striking pink floor-length gown with a cape, adorned with hundreds of sequins. Her chic bun hairstyle and sparkling silver diamond accessories completed the glamorous look. After the models paraded in their pink ensembles, Celine sang her iconic hits, “The Power of Love” and “I’m Alive.”
Jennifer Lopez, known for her role in Hustlers, opened the show in a shimmering gold leotard with tassels and a plunging neckline. She made a dramatic entrance on a floating stage beneath an arch covered in feathers, with soft waves in her hair and bold makeup. She performed “I Will Survive” alongside her well-loved songs “Waiting for Tonight,” “On the Floor,” and “Let’s Get Loud.”
Celine expressed her excitement about being at the event, calling it a “dream come true.” She praised Elie Saab’s generosity and talent, sharing her gratitude for the opportunity to meet him and wear his designs over the years.
This event marked only the third live performance for Celine since her Stiff Person Syndrome diagnosis, which led her to cancel her Courage tour in 2023. The rare neurological condition causes muscle spasms, stiffness, and difficulty moving.
Despite the challenges, Celine has made a triumphant return to the stage, with her most recent performance being at the Opening Ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games and a surprise performance at the City of Hope Gala in October.
In her documentary, I Am: Celine Dion, Celine revealed the struggle she faced before her diagnosis. She described the gradual impact of the disease on her voice and body, making her unable to walk or sing. However, she found strength in sharing her condition with the world, which helped her avoid becoming isolated and allowed her to connect with others.
Celine’s last live performance was in New Jersey in March 2020 before the pandemic forced her to cancel the rest of her tour.
