Mike Tyson faced off against YouTube star and boxer Jake Paul at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on Friday night, with the event streamed live on Netflix.
Before the match, boxing icon and Tyson’s former rival, Evander Holyfield, shared his thoughts on the fight card, humorously commenting that he didn’t expect Tyson to repeat his infamous ear-biting incident.
During the evening, the 62-year-old retired heavyweight answered several questions, including one that many fans had long anticipated: “Would you face Mike again?” In a video shared by Strong Black Lead, a verified Netflix-affiliated account on X, Holyfield responded confidently, “I’m ready, you know. It’s not a problem.”
Holyfield first defeated Tyson on November 9, 1996, ending Tyson’s eight-match winning streak. Their second bout, notorious for Tyson biting off part of Holyfield’s ear, also resulted in a Holyfield victory.
Holyfield’s last appearance in the ring was a September 11, 2021 exhibition match against former UFC champion Vitor Belfort, which he lost by TKO just 1 minute and 49 seconds into the first round.
Known as “The Real Deal,” Holyfield holds a career record of 44 wins and 10 losses, with 29 knockouts.
