A video has surfaced online showing members of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star rejecting Roland Olumba Obu, the son of the late Olumba Olumba Obu, as their Messiah.
The religious group has long revered Olumba Olumba Obu, their founder, and many followers believed he possessed near-supernatural abilities. However, these members now refuse to show the same respect to his son.
The viral footage depicts chaos in the church, with members removing and breaking a photo of the late leader.
A Facebook post by DaZion Umoh states, “AWAKENING THE CUSTOMERS OF BROTHERHOOD OF THE CROSS AND STAR.” It suggests that after nearly 100 years of deception, followers of the Brotherhood have realized that Roland Olumba Obu is not the divine figure they once believed him to be.
The post also mentions a family dispute within the church, highlighting a conflict between Roland and his late sister’s daughter, who was active in the church, and Roland’s lack of interest in the church until his father passed.
The division among members stems from a power struggle, as Roland’s new wife wishes for her son to succeed him, while Prince Roland Obu, his authentic first son, was originally groomed for the role.
The post notes that Roland Olumba Obu has been struggling with his health, frequently traveling abroad.
