Over the summer, Beyoncé released her highly anticipated country album, Cowboy Carter, which earned her a Grammy nomination for Song of the Year. However, she has yet to perform any of the songs live.
In a surprising turn of events, it has been revealed that she will debut the tracks during the halftime show of an NFL game for her hometown team.
On Monday, the Houston Texans revealed that Beyoncé will perform songs from Cowboy Carter for the first time at the halftime of the Texans’ game against the Baltimore Ravens on Christmas Day, which will be broadcast on Netflix.
“This performance in her hometown of Houston, Texas, will mark the first live performance of tracks from her record-breaking Cowboy Carter album. The 11-time Grammy-nominated superstar recently made history with the most nominations for a female artist,” the Texans shared in a statement.
This unexpected announcement, as it will be her first live performance of these songs, sparked significant excitement and buzz on social media.
