A Los Angeles Superior Court judge, Michael Jesic, has rescheduled the resentencing hearing for Erik and Lyle Menendez to January 30, 2025, postponing the original date of December 11.
The delay follows a court session on Monday where the brothers’ attorneys requested a reconsideration of their life sentences without parole for the 1989 murders of their parents. Defense attorney Mark Geragos urged the judge to resentence the Menendez brothers on the reduced charge of voluntary manslaughter.
Additionally, the late parents’ older sisters, Kitty and Jose Menendez, provided testimony during the proceeding.
