OJ Simpson’s estate rejected Kim Kardashian’s $15,000 offer to buy the inscribed Bible that belonged to her late father, Robert Kardashian.
According to reports, the SKIMS founder reached out to Malcolm LaVergne, who manages the sale of Simpson’s possessions to settle his debts, hoping to purchase the heirloom before it went to auction. LaVergne explained that selling it for the same amount offered wouldn’t be financially sensible. He said, “If Kim had offered $150,000, we would’ve been in court to get this approved outside of the auction.”
Kim, can still bid on the Bible in the auction, where the current bid is $9,800. The Bible contains a handwritten letter from Robert Kardashian to Simpson dated June 18, 1994, the day after Simpson was arrested for the murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman. The note reads, “O.J., this book will help. God loves and he will speak to you with his words. Read this book everyday.”
Robert had been Simpson’s defense attorney during the murder trial, a role that caused division in his family. His loyalty to Simpson was controversial, especially as his ex-wife, Kris Jenner, and their children, including Kim, grew up close to Simpson and Brown Simpson. Robert Kardashian Sr. died from esophageal cancer in 2003 at age 59, while Simpson passed away in April 2024 at age 76.
