Taylor Swift has filed a cease and desist order against Kanye West after he made false and explicit claims about her, alleging she had sexual relations with Justin Bieber and Harry Styles simultaneously.
According to reports, the pop star, 35, took legal action against the rapper, 47, following his social media posts making these defamatory accusations.
A source close to Swift stated that Kanye’s behavior went too far, describing the claims as not only false but also sexually harassing, damaging her reputation and career.
The source added that Swift had no choice but to pursue the cease and desist, which, according to Cornell Law School, is a formal warning demanding that the alleged misconduct cease immediately.
The situation has also upset Swift’s boyfriend, NFL star Travis Kelce, who is reportedly considering confronting Kanye directly. Kelce is said to be concerned about the public’s reaction to the posts, fearing they will amplify the lies. Another source noted that Harry Styles has not been in contact with Swift for years, but is ready to publicly deny the claims if asked. Similarly, a source close to Bieber dismissed the allegations as completely false.
This latest controversy isn’t the first between Swift and Kanye. In 2009, the rapper famously interrupted Swift’s Grammy acceptance speech, claiming Beyoncé deserved the award. Later, in 2016, Kanye referenced Swift in his song Famous, sparking backlash from Swift, who denied giving him permission to include the controversial lyrics. Kim Kardashian later posted snippets of a phone call between Kanye and Swift, suggesting Swift had approved the song, but a 2020 video revealed that Kanye had not informed Swift of the derogatory language used.
A source mentioned that Swift had kept her distance from Kanye since the incident, remaining silent in response to his previous attacks.
