Vanessa Lachey has shared her feelings of surprise and disappointment following the announcement of the cancellation of “NCIS: Hawai’i,” the series in which she starred as Special Agent in Charge Jane Tennant.
The show, which debuted in 2021 and made history as the first “NCIS” spinoff with a female lead, will not be returning for a fourth season, as reported on Friday.
In a post on her Instagram Story, Lachey expressed her emotions, writing, “Gutted, confused, blindsided.”
Despite this setback, she conveyed gratitude to the show’s supporters, stating, “Grateful, confident, beloved fans! Processing this news and still being present with my family. I Love You all!” She concluded with a heartfelt “Mahalo Nui Loa,” translating to “Thank you very much.”
Lachey’s character, Jane Tennant, mirrored her own groundbreaking achievement as the first actress to lead an “NCIS” spinoff series.
The cast also included Alex Tarrant, Noah Mills, Yasmine Al-Bustami, Tori Anderson, Jason Antoon, and Kian Talan.
Other cast members and the show’s co-creators, Christopher Silber and Matt Bosack, joined Lachey in expressing disappointment on social media.
Tori Anderson, who played FBI Special Agent Kate Whistler, expressed difficulty processing the news and thanked fans and the crew for their support.
Jason Antoon shared his appreciation for the experience despite the unexpected outcome, emphasizing the fun they had.
