The Minnesota Legislature is actively negotiating with rideshare firms and their drivers, aiming to reach a consensus.
Recently, leaders unveiled a proposed agreement for companies such as Uber and Lyft.
According to the latest plan, drivers would be entitled to a statewide minimum wage of $1.27 per mile and 49 cents per minute.
According to reports, a representative of the drivers’ group expressed willingness to accept this compromise.
However, Uber’s lobbyist indicated they were not consulted and do not endorse the proposal.
A Lyft spokesperson warned that if the statewide rates are implemented, they would be compelled to cease operations throughout Minnesota, not just in Minneapolis.
