Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan, a social media influencer and blogger, who was arrested earlier today (Sunday), has now been released.
The Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory, Mr. Benneth Igwe, confirmed his release on Sunday evening.
His lawyer, Mr. Deji Adeyanju, stated earlier on Sunday that his client had been arrested again for exposing an individual who allegedly scammed a Nigerian abroad.
In a post on his X account on Sunday, Adeyanju said, “Our client, @thatverydarkman, has just been arrested by the police on the instruction of CP Igwe for exposing someone who allegedly duped a Nigerian abroad. Instead of the police arresting the person accused of the scam, they arrested VDM on charges of defamation.”
