Alec Baldwin abruptly left the courtroom during his manslaughter trial on Thursday while the prosecutor was recounting embarrassing remarks he made to a detective.
Baldwin appeared visibly agitated, rocking back and forth in his chair before exiting without warning, surprising his attorney. He returned a few minutes later, with the jury absent during this incident.
During the trial, it was revealed that Baldwin was not the only actor handed live rounds for a scene in the production of “Rust.” Another actor, Jensen Ackles, also received them, as testified by a police investigator.
Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the armorer responsible for the weapon involved in the accidental shooting death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, is set to testify as a prosecution witness.
Currently serving an 18-month prison sentence, she is expected to invoke her fifth amendment right against self-incrimination.
Alec Baldwin’s siblings, Stephen Baldwin and Beth Keuchler, appeared in court to support him amid ongoing proceedings. After leaving court, the Baldwins were surrounded by news crews and curious onlookers as they entered their SUV.
Despite the trial, Alec and his wife Hilaria Baldwin continue to film their reality show, a move that has drawn attention and commentary on its potential impact on public perception amid the legal proceedings.
